You've now got this great
website I've made for you, but how do you upload it to the internet
so it can be seen by anyone?
First you'll need a web
site host.
- If you have an e-mail
account, it might be that you are already entitled to free web
space from your internet service provider (ISP) - check the home
page of your ISP, or contact them to ask if their e-mail package
includes web space.
- Even if your ISP doesn't
provide free web space, there are other places that do. Sometimes
a down-side of this is that they include advertisements or banners
on your site, which can destroy the overall look. I can help you
find a free web host if this is the path you wish to take.
- Or, if you want, you
can actually pay a professional web hosting company for some web
space. This isn't as horrendously expensive as you might think,
especially for small users! Often you can get a domain name in
the deal, too.
Whichever option you
choose, I can upload the site to your chosen web host if you give
me the details to do this (often this will require some sort of
user name and password, but I can discuss that in more detail with
you at the time).
If you are internet-savvy,
I'll supply you your completed site files by e-mail or on a floppy
disk, so you can upload them to a web site host yourself.
